Today, I'm grateful for unexpectedly beautiful spring days.

The forecast is calling for a turn toward a long stretch of rainy days ahead (typical for our springtimes here in the PNW), but for today, we get to enjoy unseasonably warm temps and lots of sunshine. It's a gift!

Along those lines, we didn't plant anemones for this year, but we had a small patch of them that volunteered where last year's planting lived. Gotta love the resiliency and beauty!

I think the theme for the day is all about joyful appreciation of those things that "shouldn't be", yet still are. Today is a reminder to me that there is beauty gifted to us in small ways all the time, if only we stop to notice. ❤️

Some farms have dogs that serve as livestock guardians, but on ours, this sweet boy watches over all the flowers--from sowing through harvest. And he takes his work as the self-appointed farm manager very seriously!

Aspen, you fill our lives with unending joy! You show us exactly what it means to cultivate a life well-lived. From the way you enthusiastically greet every morning with fresh eyes and curiosity, to the way you pause to soak up the warmth of the sun or watch butterflies with a look of playfulness and wonder on your sweet face, you truly know what it means to make the most of each and every day. We love you beyond words, and we look forward to every adventure we get to share with you. Happy birthday, Aspen! ❤️

My goodness, I do so love the early spring blooms. These 'Replete' double narcissus are just incredible, and I absolutely delight in enjoying a bouquet (or two...or ten!) around our home!⁣
⁣
Here's something you might not know, though...⁣
⁣
When you first see a wrapped bunch, you might think that narcissus are rather...shall we say underwhelming? That's because we harvest our stems at the *perfect* time to make sure you have the longest possible vase life. ⁣
⁣
This means that they won't look like this photo when you pick up your bouquet! Most of the heads will be closed or barely open. ⁣
⁣
But! Get them into a vase, and within a day they'll open up and start putting on a display like you wouldn't believe!⁣
⁣
You'll get to enjoy them a LOT longer than if you'd chosen a bouquet with already-open blooms (who knows how old those might be!). Also, be sure to change the water every two days and place your bouquets out of direct sun or moving air (heater, fan, etc) to keep them fresher longer.⁣

Typically the very first cut blooms on our farm, these creamy white double narcissus have earned their place on my list of favorites!⁣

What makes me love them even more is their intoxicating fragrance. To me, it's a sweet and peppery combination that just makes them all that more enjoyable in the vase.⁣
⁣
Decadent bouquets of these beauties will be available very soon--strictly on a first-come-first-served basis. We doubled our planting for this year, but these always go fast!!⁣
